Prior to his being Director, he served as Deputy Director for the Specialized Services Division since 2010, responsible for Blind Field Services, the Orientation Center for the Blind, the Older Individuals who are Blind Program, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Section, and the Business Enterprises Program.Joe has over 28 years' experience in business and public administration, as well as many years participating in advocacy and community organizations.

Nagasawa earned a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, a Master of Arts degree in Musicology, and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Los Angeles. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Osaka College of Music.

Hilary is founder and owner of Lentini Design and Marketing Inc. (LDM), a full-service branding and marketing firm. LDM works with established businesses, public sector entities and non-profits to shape their brand visuals, messaging, and digital presence via website, design and development, digital advertising, and email campaigns. Hilary was appointed by Governor Brown to represent the small business perspective on the CWDB in 2018. Hilary is the Past President of the National Association of Women Business Owners Los Angeles Chapter (NAWBO-LA), and Past President of the National Association of Women Business Owners California Chapter (NAWBO-CA). Hilary is passionate about supporting women in leadership and works to open doors of opportunity for women business owners throughout the state.

Brittany Comegna

Brittany Comegna has been Founder and CEO of Deaf and Disability Mediation Services since 2024. She was an Education Coordinator for the Rochester Institute of Technology from 2023 to 2024, where she held several positions from 2013 to 2023, including Director, Coordinator and Admissions Counselor. She is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association and California Hands and Voices. Comegna earned a Master of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema and Television Arts from California State University, Northridge. She is Deaf and her native language is American Sign Language.

Eli Gelardin has served as the Marin Center for Independent Living (CIL) Chief Executive Officer since 2008. A proud UC Berkeley alumni and former beneficiary of the Disabled Student Services program, Eli’s lived experience informs his professional work. He co-chairs the Aging & Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) Statewide Advisory Committee and is an appointee to both the Master Plan on Aging's CA 2030 Steering Committee and Marin County's Disaster Citizens Council. Eli co-chair's Healthy Marin Partnership's Board, is Vice Chair of the World Institute on Disability's Board, and serves on the boards of the Aging Action Initiative, Marin Aging & Disability Institute, and Marin In-Home Support Services (IHSS) Public Authority.

Shannon has been a Community Parent at WarmLine Family Resource Center since 2018. She was a Program Coordinator at the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers from 2011 to 2015. Shannon was a Consultant at Humanity & Inclusion in 2009. She was an Urban Youth Development Worker for the U.S. Peace Corps from 2004 to 2006. Shannon was a Mentor at the Youth Empowerment Project in 2003. She was Acting Program Coordinator at Fulfillment Fund Teen Access Program from 2002 to 2003. Shannon is a member of the State Independent Living Council. She earned a Master of Public Administration degree in International Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from the University of California, Berkeley.
